Undergraduate


Scholarships for citizens of Central Asian Countries

Scholarship covers: 100% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship
Duration: 4 academic years (cannot be extended)

Student’s citizenship: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan
Target group:
– Students transferring to KIMEPU from other universities
– High School Graduates of 2018, 2019 and 2020 years
Selection Criteria*:
– Good English Proficiency (IELTS 4.5 and above, TOEFL IBT 57 and above, KEPT 51 and above, or other equivalents);
– GPA of high/vocational school 4.00 and above out of 5.00 (attestat);
– GPA of the previous university 70% and above (if already available).
Additional criteria:
– Academic merits of national or international level within the recent 3 years
Application deadline: 20 July, 2020

*Can be reconsidered upon recommendation of the Admission and Scholarship Committee, Academic Concil or President’s Cabinet.
The KIMEP University reserves a right to amend the conditions, criteria, and order of allocating and granting the financial aid/scholarship, as well as not to award scholarships based on decision of the authorized KIMEP University Committee. In case of necessity, additional criteria may be set (e.g. interview, etc.). KIMEP University scholarships do not cover fees, fines, dormitory and library deposits, etc.

Kazakhstan 2050 Scholarship

Scholarship covers: 100% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship
Duration: 4 academic years (cannot be extended)

Citizenship: Kazakhstan
Selection criteria:
— 2020 high school graduates;
— Excellent English Proficiency (IELTS 5.5 and above, TOEFL IBT 70 and above, KEPT 80 and above, etc.);
— The highest high school GPA (GPA 5.00 out of 5.00).
— The highest UNT score (min 100 out of 140);
Additional criteria:
— “Altyn Belgi” distinction;
— Certificates of winners of international and/or republican level Olympiads within the recent 3 years, which must be approved according to the order #514 of MES RK from December 7, 2011;
— Other criteria if required by FAO (English level, high school GPA for 5-11 grades, interview etc.).

Scholarship for programs: Bachelor of Accounting and Audit, Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Marketing, Bachelor of International Law, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Journalism, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of International Relations, Bachelor of Finance, Bachelor of Public and Municipal Administration, Bachelor in Cognitive Sciences, Bachelor of Information Systems in Business*, Foreign Language* and Translation Studies*.

Scholarship covers: 25% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship
Duration: 2020-2021 academic year (cannot be extended)

Citizenship: Kazakhstan
Selection criteria:
— 2020 high school graduates;
— Excellent English Proficiency (IELTS 5.5/TOEFL 70/KEPT 80 score requiring no KIMEP University Foundation Courses);
— The highest high school GPA (GPA 4.50 out of 5.00);
— The highest UNT score (min 70 out of 140).
Additional criteria:
— “Altyn Belgi” distinction;
— Certificates of winners of international and/or republican level Olympiads within the recent 3 years, which must be approved according to the order #514 of MES RK from December 7, 2011;
— Other criteria if required by FAO (English level, high school GPA for 5-11 grades, interview etc.).

«Altyn Belgi» Scholarship

Scholarship covers: 50% coverage of tuition
Important! Dormitory, library deposits, student, medical and other fees are not covered
Duration: 2020-2021 academic year (cannot be extended)

Citizenship: any
Selection Criteria:
– 2020 RK high school graduates;
– “Altyn Belgi” certificate;
– The highest UNT score (min 70 out of 140).
Additional criteria:
– The highest level of English proficiency;
– Certificates of winners of international and/or republican level Olympiads within the recent 3 years, which must be approved according to the order #514 of MES RK from December 7, 2011;
– Other criteria if required by FAO (English level, high school GPA for 5-11 grades, interview etc.).

Graduate


Graduate Scholarship Evaluation Details
Maximum possible evaluation score is 100%: essay – 60%, portfolio – 30% and English language – 10%.
Essay “Challenges and opportunities for Central Asia in the 21st century: in each program’s field of study” (maximum weight = 60%);
Two faculty from each program electronically grade the uploaded essays for the content/idea giving 50% out of possible 60% and the rest 10% for English;
Portfolio (maximum weight = 30%):
– Additional degree diplomas
  • No = 0%
  • one and more = 6%

– Work experience, confirmed by official documents (confirmation certificate from a work place; labor record book; reference letters, employment contracts, etc.)

  • No = 0%;
  • less than 1 year = 2%;
  • from 1 to 2 years = 4%;
  • from 2 to 3 years = 6%;
  • 3 years and more = 8%

– Professional publications in academic journals and professional magazines (to be confirmed by the Colleges – valid or not valid)

  • No = 0%
  • one = 4%;
  • two and more = 8%

– Extracurricular achievements (to be confirmed by the Colleges – valid or not valid)

  • No = 0%
  • 1 or more = 8%

English Proficiency (maximum weight = 10%) KEPT/TOEFL are also acceptable in scores corresponding to the below IELTS levels (but not less than 4.0 in each section).

  • IELTS 4.5-5.0 = 2%;
  • IELTS 5.5-6.0 = 4%;
  • IELTS 6.5-7.0 = 6%;
  • IELTS 7.5-8.0 = 8%;
  • IELTS 8.5-9.0 = 10%;

In tie cases quality of publications and graduated University will be considered by Colleges.
