IT and Natural Science Discovery Day at KIMEP for High School Students

On October 31, 2025, the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at KIMEP University hosted IT and Natural Science Discovery Day, an Open House event designed for high school students interested in IT, mathematics, engineering, and natural sciences. The event aimed to introduce participants to modern STEM education and showcase the faculty’s interdisciplinary and innovative academic environment.

More than 60 students from School No. 125, Gymnasium No. 140, Lyceum No. 39, RFMSh, and several other schools attended the event. Faculty members led a series of interactive workshops and hands-on sessions, including:

  • a welcome speech and an overview of the faculty’s academic programs;
  • an AI workshop on building an image-classification model;
  • an IoT and Robotics demonstration;
  • an interactive session on cybersecurity;
  • a hands-on lesson on patterns and logic;
  • a physics workshop titled “Experiments in Motion”;
  • a creative data visualization class;
  • a Q&A session with current BSCS and BISB students, followed by a guided campus tour.

The day concluded with an engaging STEM Kahoot quiz, where the RFMSh team took first place.

IT and Natural Science Discovery Day offered students a first-hand experience of the vibrant learning environment at KIMEP University, inspiring future applicants and highlighting the faculty’s commitment to high-quality, forward-thinking STEM education.
