About the Speaker
Dr. Jacob Reidhead, PhD is an Assistant Professor at National Chengchi University and a former Assistant Professor at KIMEP University. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Stanford University, an MS in Statistics, and a BS in Mathematics. As a social scientist and East Asia specialist, Dr. Reidhead focuses on using computational methods to understand political and social structures.
Workshop Overview
This workshop explores a massive corpus of one million Kazakhstan news articles. The goal is to identify potential collaborators for creative research and high-quality co-authored publications.
Part 1: Introduction to the dataset and an overview of cutting-edge text and media analysis methods.
Part 2: Interactive brainstorming for research designs across various disciplines.
Who should attend? Faculty and students of all levels and disciplines are welcome. No coding experience is required.
