KIMEP University, together with the OSCE Program Office in Nur-Sultan and the US Agency for International Cooperation Project “Safe Migration in Central Asia” implemented by Winrock International, calls for applications to the “Human Rights in the State of Emergency” summer school, which will take place from August 3 to August 6, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Third and fourth-year law students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are invited to participate.
Summer school covers the following areas:

  • human rights and freedoms in emergency situations, their categorization;
  • the concept of limits and restrictions on human rights and freedoms, and its consolidation in the law;
  • legal status of the state of emergency, its limits and the rule of law;
  • practical mini-projects of the Summer School participants in various areas of the main topic, and group work.

To apply for participation candidates need to send a CV and a motivation letter under 500 words by July 6, 2022 to the e-mail address of the KIMEP University Summer School coordinator, Rustam Atadjanov, rustamatadjanov1@gmail.com, marked “Application for participation in the Summer School – full name and country”. All accommodation and travel expenses for out-of-town and international students are covered by the organizers. Selected participants will be notified by e-mail no later than July 13, 2022.
