The Research Center provides support to the programs of the Law School and promotes the advancement of Legal scholarship. It also supplies the programs in Law with study materials, which were developed based on the Research Center’s findings.
All faculty interested in research and contributing to the operation of the Center may apply for membership – this includes not only Law School faculty, but also faculty from other academic units of KIMEP University and other academic institutions.
Jean Monnet Chair
Zhenis Kembayev, a Professor of Law at KIMEP University, has been named the Jean Monnet Chair in European and International Law by the European Commission in Brussels.
The Jean Monnet Chair program supports teaching positions in the field of EU studies worldwide and chairs are awarded following an international competitive process.
Along with the title of Jean Monnet Chair, Zhenis Kembayev has received a three-year grant to support a number of curriculum and research activities.
He is the first professor in Kazakhstan to receive this prestigious honor, which is named after one of the founders of the European Union and is funded by the EU’s Lifelong Learning Program.
