Kazenergy Association Scholarship

Scholarship covers: 100% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship

KIMEP University Presidential Scholarship

Scholarship covers: 100% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship
Duration: 2021-2022 academic year (cannot be extended)
Quantity: 3 (1 per each year of study)
Citizenship: any
Selection criteria:
– 2, 3, 4 year students and non degree students;
– 31 and above credits earned (out of them at least 12 credits earned at KIMEP University; for students who previously transferred from other Universities – credits transferred will not be counted);
– the highest overall GPA (minimum 4.00 after Spring 2021);
– without “Incomplete” grades in the transcript.
Additional criteria:
– other criteria can be applied if its required by Financial Aid office (e.g. no “retaken” courses, no “withdrawn” courses, etc.).
How to apply for the scholarship:
1. Fill in an online application form at the Student Portal.
2. Write an Essay in the Scholarship Application form. The topic of the Essay published on the application form.
3. Upload a recent photo on the Student Portal and update all your contact information.

Important! The distribution is based on student’s academic standing available after Spring 2021. Before the start of the 2021-2022 academic year, the overall GPA of the awarded student should not fall below 4.00, nor should there be less than 12 credits left for graduation from the KIMEP University. Otherwise, the scholarship is redistributed to the next student from the waiting list.

KIMEP University Dean’s Scholarship

Scholarship covers: 50% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship
Duration: 2021-2022 academic year (cannot be extended)
Quantity: 12 (3 per each year of study)
Citizenship: any
Selection criteria:
– 1, 2, 3, 4 year students and non degree students;
– 12 and above credits earned (credits transferred will not be counted);
– the highest overall GPA (minimum 4.00 after Spring 2021);
– without “Incomplete” grades in the transcript.

Excellence Scholarship

Scholarship covers: 50% or 25% coverage of tuition
Important! Deposits and fees (dormitory and library), as well as compulsory fees (student, medical, etc.) are not covered by scholarship
Duration: 2021-2022 academic year (cannot be extended)
Quantity: 18 with 50% and 18 with 25% coverage of tuition
Citizenship: any
Selection Criteria:
– certificate(s) of extracurricular achievement for the benefit of KIMEP and in the name of KIMEP, certified by the KIMEP Department that is responsible for the activity. Received within KIMEP student life during last year;
– 2, 3, 4 years students. To be eligible non degree students should be admitted to degree program by Fall 2021 semester;
– 31 and above credits earned (out of them at least 12 credits earned at KIMEP University; for students who previously transferred from other Universities – credits transferred will not be counted);
– minimum overall GPA 3.50 before Fall 2021.
The distribution process and evaluation:
1. Certificate assessment – 35 points maximum. Students who meet eligibility criteria and pass the certificates’ assessment will be invited to the contest.
2. Contest – 35 points maximum. Contest is an exam or essay conducted by Colleges for each year of study.
3. Interview – 30 points maximum. Candidates who earn the highest score, as a sum of points for the first two stages will be invited for the interview.
Total – 100 points maximum
Awarding:
The candidates with the top cumulative results for all stages will be awarded according to the approved number of scholarships. Distribution results will be published on the KIMEP University website.

How to apply for the scholarship:
1. Fill in an online application form at the Student Portal.
2. Upload a scan or photo copy of your certificate(s) on online application form . Combine all certificates in one file and assign a name for this file: StudentID – LastName FirstName (for example: 20192019 – John Smith).
3. Upload a recent photo on the Student Portal and update all your contact information.

Scholarship Stipend named in honor of Dr.Zhenis Kembayev

Amount of Stipend: 500 USD
Duration: one time payment
Application deadline: end of March

The scholarship will cover the amount in tenge equivalent to 500 USD per stipend recipient, up to two recipients per year (for a total of the amount in tenge equivalent to 1,000 USD).
This scholarship will be distributed and monitored by the Scholarship Committee which will consist of two faculty members of the School of Law and one FAO representative.
Selection process:
Stage I (main criteria):
– Law School undergraduate students of 3rd years of study upon Fall semester;
– minimum overall GPA 4.00 after Fall semester;
– non-holders of 100% scholarship;
– active participation in public, sport, culture, research and university life (if applicable). Provide the certificates for the last three years of study at KIMEP (if any);
– submit a short Essay on the topic “Developments in constitutional law as the result of recent events, e.g., the COVID-19 pandemic” (topic of the essay is valid for 2020-2021 academic year). The essay should be at least 800 but no more than 1,200 words in length. The evaluation criteria will be a simple 70/30 formula, i.e., 70% for substance (quality and depth of research, analysis, and discussion) and 30% for form (spelling, grammar, punctuation).
The Scholarship Committee will evaluate all submitted documents and certificates and provide Partner with the list of scores.
The Scholarship Committee will select 2-3 candidates per stipend with the highest scores for the essay and invite them to the next stage.
Stage II:
Interview with representatives of the Partner and/or Scholarship Committee (15-20 min per each candidate) Evaluation Form
– Each candidate presents himself or herself;
– Q & A session.
Final step:
– Based on the interview and the results of the first stage, the Scholarship Committee will identify the winner(s).
– In order to receive a stipend, Stipend Holder should be a full-time registered student at KIMEP at the time of the application.

RAKHMET SCHOLARSHIP

External partner: Alumni of KIMEP University
Scholarship covers: some amount for tuition coverage
Student category: needy students
Duration: 1 academic year (cannot be extended)

PRESIDENTIAL STIPEND FOR 3 AND 4 YEAR STUDENTS

External partner: Ministry of Education and Science
Duration: monthly stipend during 1 calendar year (January 2021- December 2021)
Quantity: ~5~10 (the quantity changes every year)
Citizenship: Kazakhstan
Selection criteria:
– 3rd and 4th year bachelor students (minimum of 69 credits earned) based on the results of Spring 2021;
– excellent academic achievements (only A-, A, A+);
– participation in research activity (diploma, certificates or other documents);
– participation in Republican and International Olympiads, creativity competitions, sport competitions, festivals to be the author of inventions, scientific articles in leading publications, journals, of Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad;
– participation in social, cultural and sport life of KIMEP University.
Required documents:
– unofficial transcript;
– copies of diplomas, certificates, honors;
– recommendation letters.

– 1, 2 years students and non degree students;
– 12 and above credits earned (credits transferred will not be counted);
– the highest overall GPA (minimum 3.50 after Spring 2021);
– without “Incomplete” grades in the transcript.
Additional criteria:
– other criteria can be applied if its required by Financial Aid office (e.g. no “retaken” courses, no “withdrawn” courses, etc.).
