Нығмет Ибадильдин 1995 жылы Қазақ мемлекеттік университетін философия мамандығы бойынша бітірген. Ол Фреснодағы Калифорния мемлекеттік университетінде халықаралық қатынастар бойынша өнер магистрі дәрежесін алды. 2011 жылы Тампере университетінде, Менеджмент мектебінде кандидаттық диссертация қорғады. Диссертация тақырыбы Қазақстандағы ресурстық қарғыспен күресудегі жаңа және ескі институционалдық негіздердің рөлі». Диссертациялық жұмыстың бағасы жоғары бағаға ие.
1999-2002 жылдары «Қазақстан энергиясы» журналында және «Время по» газетінде редактор және журналист болды.
Қазақстанда және шетелде әртүрлі мектептерде жұмыс істеді.
Ғылыми қызығушылықтары табиғи ресурстардың саяси экономиясы, институционалдық даму, посткеңестік институттар және дискурстық талдау.
Қазіргі уақытта КИМЭП Университетінде сабақ береді, Алматы, Қазақстан.
