Pre-Arrival Checklist

Step I: RECIEVE NOMINATION AND APPLY

Partner university makes nominations to KIMEP University;

KIMEP International Office informs nominated students 2 month prior the start of a mobility program;

Nominated students apply for academic mobility program through KIMEP online application portal: https://www.kimep.kz/prospective-students/en/admission/ .

Step II: COMPLETE THE ADMISSION

In the KIMEP online application portal upload the following required documents and complete the application:

Required at the pre admission stage:

  • Copy of international passport;
  • Copy of current official transcript;
  • 3*4 colored photo.

Required at the pre arrival stage: 

  • Proof of English language proficiency;
  • Vaccinations records certificate

Once you fulfill all admission requirements and upload all documents you will receive an Admission Letter.

Step III: CONTACT YOUR COORDINATOR

Step IV: APPLY FOR A VISA

Invitation letter with the reference number for VISA application is prepared by the KIMEP Visa Office. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Fill in the online visa form: https://www2.kimep.kz/anon/hr/visaform
    or send the filled-in visa form (DOC format) along with a scanned copy of your passport (PDF format) to the visa manager at visa@kimep.kz or via WhatsApp at +7 701 3600216.
  2. Receive the Cover Letter (which includes the invitation letter and visa number) from the KIMEP Visa Manager, along with detailed information on the visa application process.
  3. Check the procedures, prepare the required documents, and contact the closest Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan to confirm that you have all the necessary documents for a visa application.
  4. Make an appointment at the Kazakhstan Embassy or Consulate.
  5. After receiving the visa, write an email to the visa manager (visa@kimep.kz) in advance and indicate the date and time of your arrival to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Basic required visa application documents:

  1. Filled visa application form;
  2. Invitation letter and visa support number;
  3. One (1) passport-size photo;
  4. Original international passport;
  5. Visa fee.

PLEASE REMEMBER: The Kazakhstan Embassy or Consulate may request additional documents.

Step V. PLAN YOUR ARRIVAL DATE

Get in touch with the Coordinator on Incoming Mobility (incoming@kimep.kz) when you are certain about the date and time of your arrival to Kazakhstan.

Step VI. PLAN YOUR ACCOMODATION

Exchange students are guaranteed on-campus housing at the KIMEP Residence Hall.
If you are planning to live at KIMEP Residence Hall, make booking through KIMEP student portal: my.kimep.kz → Campus Life → Accommodation → Reservation
Booking periods:

  • Fall semester: End of July
  • Spring semester: End of November
  • If you are planning to live off-campus, the specialist from Residence Life and Housing department assists in finding off campus accommodation.

Step VII. REQUEST A PICK-UP SERVICE

Fill out the Airport Pick-Up Service form (only for new exchange students and non-Russian freshman international students) through the KIMEP Student Portal:
https://my.kimep.kz→ Campus Life → Transportation Form → Pick-Up Service
