On November 15, 2022 Sayasat Nurbek, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan came to visit KIMEP University. The open meeting with him was attended by the administration, students and faculty of the university.
At the meeting with Dr. Chan Young Bang, the Minister presented him a letter of Appreciation from Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev – the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In his letter the Head of the State highlighted the importance of the research activity of Dr. Chan Young Bang for development of Kazakhstani science in the global educational area and expressed
appreciation for Dr. Bang’s personal contribution into development of higher education, noting many years of his fruitful efforts.
As the minister underlined, thanks to Dr. Chan Young Bang the Western-style university emerged for the first time in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Throughout these 30 years KIMEP University made its way from a small institution to a globally renowned university.
Sayasat Nurbek shared the plans of the MSHE of the RK for development of science and higher education. In the view of high birth rate in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, as well as of the global
geopolitical situation a high demand for higher education in Kazakhstan is noted. This opens up major opportunities and outlooks to develop the Kazakhstani science and higher education in the future. Mr. Nurbek stated that the current realities provide vast opportunities for our region to emerge as one of the international educational hubs for the whole world’s student mobility.
