School of General Education
Welcome to the General Education web page. This page is designed to give you a basic understanding of the General Education Program, its requirements, and the different options that you can pursue during your time at KIMEP. You can search for required and elective general education courses by department, by category and by year of entry. (Please note that this page is for finding information about the General Education Program only; information about the other core requirements and electives is available on the college advising web pages).
We suggest that you begin thinking early in your undergraduate career about the most effective order in which to take the required courses and the elective courses that appeal to you. You should also think about the best way of combining them to create a stimulating program. To do this we suggest that you consider not only the various different General Education courses on offer, but also the courses in your planned or existing major(s) and minor(s).
The General Education Program is structured to span two and a half years of study, from the required first-year Academic English Speaking, Listening and Writing classes to courses that you select to build a foundation for your major. On this page you will find official University information on courses and an online schedule of classes. You will also be able to take advantage of the many advising opportunities.
