Dr. Sergey Sayapin gave a lecture on Transnational Criminal Justice at Humboldt University of Berlin

On 19 – 24 June 2016, Dr. Sergey Sayapin, Assistant Professor at KIMEP University’s School of Law, attended the Eighth Summer School on Transnational Criminal Justice at Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany).

The Summer School is organised annually by Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of the Western Cape (South Africa), with support from the German Academic Exchange Service.

This year, the Summer School brought together more than ten students from a number of African countries, internationally renowned academics and practitioners, including a Judge at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and representatives of various German authorities.

On 24 June 2016, Dr. Sayapin delivered a guest lecture entitled “The Ukrainian Crisis from the Perspective of International Criminal Law”.

In the 2016 – 2017 academic year, Dr. Sayapin should start teaching an international criminal law course to LLB in International Law students at KIMEP University. The course would cover the history and fundamental notions of international criminal justice as well as interactions between international and national criminal law.
