Week of the Hermitage at KIMEP University

On November 3rd-7th, 2014, The Hermitage Week celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Hermitage (St. Petersburg, Russia) was taking place at KIMEP.

This charitable event gave an opportunity to senior high schoolchildren from orphanages and regular high schools to get acquainted with this world-famous museum and with the KIMEP University.

Lyudmila Davydova, well-known art expert, curator of sculpture at the Department of Classical Antiquity of the State Hermitage Museum and Professor at the  Repin St. Petersburg State Academic Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, visited KIMEP as a guest lecturer and made several presentations on various aspects of the Hermitage activities: History of Museum CollectionsGreek Myths in Art, and The World-Famous Art Masterpieces from the Hermitage Collection.

We extend our heart-felt gratitude to Prof. Davydova for this great opportunity to learn about the history and art collections of the State Hermitage Museum, and to the organizers of The Hermitage Week – for all  their efforts in preparing the wonderful event; we would also like to thank our audience: schoolchildren from high schools and orphanages and students of KIMEP for their interest and participation.
