Scholarships and grants

Students accepted into the KIMEP scholarship program will have free tuition for three years, the minimum time for Ph.D program. In addition, students will be given a monthly stipend during the Fall and Spring semesters (8 months). The stipend will depend on previous academic qualifications and experience.

Master’s from Western institution or KIMEP No teaching experience
Grade C Full Scholarship and Low Stipend KZT 85 000 per month Local Master’s Degree No teaching experience

Upon college-level review of candidates’ performance after the first year, the candidate in grades B or C may be upgraded one rank for their second year. The stipends last for two years, which represent the period of coursework. In the following years, Ph.D. candidates may teach, at adjunct rates, up to two classes per semester, depending on KIMEP need; or they may return to their home universities while they complete their dissertations.
