The purpose of the PhD degree in Public Administration is to train graduates who are going to educate the next generation of public service professionals and who are going to produce original research that informs public administration and policies of government, business, think tanks, and NGOs within Kazakhstan and abroad. Studying the program encourages intellectual inquiry and fosters creativity and academic excellence of students who aim at a successful career as researchers, teachers and/or practitioners.
Students are going to acquire skills to be highly competitive in the international academic labor market and have the ability to make contributions at the frontiers of their fields of specialization.
Research topics may be taken from the following fields:
A PhD in Public and Municipal Administration qualifies for work in top-rank positions as policy advisers and analysts to governments and international development institutions; heads of research units in private and public organizations; faculty members in academic institutions and as managers combining roles in strategic decision-making, research and research administration
