The PhD degree program in Economics trains graduates to make contributions at the frontier of their field of specialization and to provide them with the skills to be highly competitive in the international academic labour market. Studying the program encourages intellectual inquiry and fosters creativity and academic excellence of students who aim at a successful career as researchers, teachers and/or practitioners.
Students will employ innovative methods and find creative solutions to problems in economics and social science and conduct rigorous economic analysis with the aim of publishing in high-ranking journals.
The department offers supervision in the areas:
A PhD in economics qualifies for top-level careers in academia and think-tanks, consultancy, top management of financial and business companies, government and government institutions and agencies, non-governmental organizations, inter-governmental organizations and development agencies.
