On September 25, 2026, Dr. Chan Young Bang, President of KIMEP University, met with Jacob Dreyer, Senior Editor at Palgrave Macmillan/Springer Nature, and Tom Simpson, Managing Director of China Operations and Chief China Representative at the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC).

The discussion covered a range of issues of mutual interest, including China’s economic development, its future prospects, and the evolving role of China in the region and the global economy.
Particular attention was also given to two book projects by Dr. Bang. The first draws on his lifelong research on the DPRK and examines issues related to North Korea. The second is Dr. Bang’s memoir, which explores his life, views on leadership, and the story of KIMEP University.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and discuss potential avenues for collaboration, including the development and publication of these projects.
