On June 27, 2025, the DPRK Strategic Research Center participated in a high-level symposium hosted by Huayu Think Tank at the Wenjin International Hotel in Beijing. The event, titled “The Impact of Trump 2.0 on Sino-American Relations and the Korean Peninsula,” focused on key geopolitical issues including denuclearization in Northeast Asia, shifting alliance structures, and regional economic development.

Presentations were delivered by Dr. Chan Young Bang, President of KIMEP University and Principal Investigator of the DPRK Strategic Research Center, alongside Dr. Anar Shaikenova, Dr. Sungju Park-Kang, and former UK Ambassador to North Korea, John Everard.

The Chinese delegation featured distinguished experts from Huayu Think Tank, including Xu Changyin (former Xinhua correspondent in Washington), Chen Fangming (senior diplomat and UN expert), Fan Weiguo (specialist on Russia), and Gao Haorong (former Xinhua bureau chief in Pyongyang). The symposium was moderated by General Peng

Guangqian, Chairman of Huayu Think Tank and a leading voice on Chinese military and strategic affairs.

The event fostered rich academic dialogue and policy-level exchange between Chinese and Kazakh institutions. It concluded with a formal dinner, reinforcing mutual understanding and paving the way for future cooperation between the DPRK Strategic Research and Huayu Think Tank.
