Admission and selection criteria are elaborated by each consortium and can be found at its website. Admission criteria are at the discretionary of each host institution. Selection criteria are be based on academic records, language skills and other variables as motivation, impact of the mobility and gender balance, for example. The Selection Committee of each consortium consists of representatives of partner institutions.

The Selection Committee at KIMEP consists of the EM Program Coordinator, Elmira Suleimanova and two faculty members from the relevant college. The Selection Committee will be checking the documents provided for the on-line applications, eligibility of candidates, etc. and provide necessary information to the Coordinator of the consortia.

Selection Committee guarantees an impartial and transparent selection process based on academic merit and equal treatment.

Nomination

All selected candidates and applicants included in the reserve list will be informed about the award decision by email. Selected candidates will have NOT more than 10 days to accept or reject the offered scholarship.

Selected candidates who have received a letter of nomination by email should also inform the International Relations Office about their decision. Since that time they will be guided by a coordinator from their host university.

Visa and Departure

All finalists should be aware about the visa procedure which depends on a country of study’s immigration regulations and may take up to 2,5 months. In some cases, finalists will have to go to Moscow to arrange their visa. A host institution has no responsibility for visa issue.

The Coordinator of the consortium will cover the travel cost and insurance for each grantee. The host institution will cover all other expenses according to the scholarship scheme. All grantees are strongly advised to have money for the first month of stay in the host country as the first scholarship payment is not arranged until you have a bank account, migration registration in the country, accommodation, etc. In some cases it may take a month or so. It could happen that in some extraordinary cases, grantees would pay for travelling, visa, etc. which will be reimbursed by the Coordinator of the consortium. All necessary documents for reimbursements and consortium financial report must be submitted to the Coordinator of the consortium or the partner institution.

All participants are subject to rules at the host institution and follow country of stay’s legislation.
