Application Package

For Bachelor Students

To apply to KIMEP as an undergraduate student, the following documents should be submitted:

  1. A completed Online Application Form (Printable version Application Form for Bachelor students).
  2. A photocopy of your passport
  3. A photocopy of your apostiled High School diploma and transript or Inquery from your school certifying that you are graduating/in your final year with a transript of grades
  4. Copies of any certificates, honors, or awards in the field of study you are applying for and all other certificates, honors or awards (in languages, in sport, etc.) for the last 3 years.

In case of admission to undergraduate programs, upon arrival to KIMEP you need to submit the originals of educational documents for verification and medical documents.

If you graduated high school in a country outside the CIS, any documents should be presented apostilled1, translated into English and notarized2.

For Graduate Students

To apply to KIMEP as an graduate student, the following documents should be submitted:

  1. A completed Online Application Form (Printable version Application Form for Master students); please use this application form for the Master of International Law (LLM) program
  2. A photocopy of your passport
  3. A photocopy of your apostilled1 diploma(s) and transcript(s), or an official letter from your university certifying that you are a graduating/final year student with transcript of grades
  4. A resume in English, covering academic achievements and work experience
  5. Any certificates or awards in the field of study that is being applied for, and any other certificates or awards (in English language, in sport, etc)
  6. Two letters of recommendation from your university or work (is not required for MBA program)
  7. An essay, as follows:
    1. For applicants to the MPA program: “Why did I choose the MPA program at KIMEP? What are my goals and how will the MPA program help me to achieve them?” (2-3 pages)
    2. For applicants to the MIR program: the theme should be devoted to their interest in a KIMEP education
    3. For applicants to the MAIJ program: it is preferable but not obligatory to submit three pieces of work: a published article, audio materials and video materials
    4. For applicants to the MA in TESOL program: a free biographical essay: “Why did I choose the MA in TESOL program? My goals and how the MA in TESOL program will help me to achieve them.” (2-3 pages)
    5. No essay is required for applicants to the MAE and MBA programs.
  8. Any other documents you consider to be of relevance to your application may be submitted to at your discretion.

For Transfer Students

For Non-Degree Students

Application documents need to be sent in scanned version directly at international@kimep.kz

1: an apostille (a stamp, printed form on state documents of education) is an international standard form containing information on a legal status of a document to be presented at the territory of any country – participant of The Hague convention 1961 (including Kazakhstan). An apostille can be obtained in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the signatory country.

2: a notarized document  is an officially certified legal document by a notary public. The purpose of having a legal document notarized is to ensure the authenticity of the signatures that appear on the document.
