We are pleased to inform you that Global Air – American Express is now our partner for travel agent services. The Company will handle all travel arrangements for KIMEP University faculty, staff and students.

Global Air has assigned dedicated agents specifically for the travel needs of KIMEP University. This includes terms of air and train tickets, hotel reservations, visa support and other services that may be necessary for personal or business trips.

Please find attached a flyer with more detailed information on the new arrangement. This flyer also will be posted around campus, for your convenience.

Executive Education Center: Seventeenth HR club meeting

On February 15, 2012 KIMEP Executive Education Center hosted the 17^th HR club meeting dedicated to the establishment and development of distance learning in Kazakhstan. The session was attended by representatives from Kazkommertsbank, Sberbank of Russia, Temirbank, Bank RBK, Eurasian Bank, Ernst & Young, Step & Grow, Pension Fund “Capital”, WebSoft and other companies.

EEC: International Business Coaching Day attracted over 100 participants

On February 10, 2012 EEC hosted a Business Coaching Day in the framework of the International Coaching Week in Kazakhstan. The event gathered over 100 participants from business and non-profit organizations including top managers from Kazakhstani Universities and executive clients from various companies such as JTI Kazakhstan, USKO International, Key Partners Consulting, Bank RBK, HSBC and others.

Last weekend the College of Social Sciences held the Freshmen Teambuilding Event, which was organized by the CSS Recruitment and Retention Committee.

The goal of the event was to help freshmen, senior students, and faculty bond with each other. Together, they developed a sense of community, discovered shared goals, established a positive team culture, and increased their commitment to their academic programs, CSS, and KIMEP itself. Freshmen, senior students, international and exchange students were joined into four separate groups, after which they engaged in various fun activities that demanded a high level of cooperation and coordination. Students, faculty and staff members enjoyed the friendly, informal nature of the event, which put the talents and creativity of all group members on display.

Teambuilding was amazing. The mood of freshmen and all team members was great; we had a lot of fun. It helped students get acquainted with each other, to be more friendly. One more advantage of this meeting is that students became better acquainted with their teachers, and learned to feel more comfortable with them. It raised team spirit among students and helped us to come together.Thank you for such a fun event…I’d like to see these teambuilding events for freshmen taking place on a regular basis.

KIMEP students became intellectual champions of Kazakhstan

The KIMEP team “BrainArt” emerged victorious in the second Kazakhstani Trivia Championship “What? Where? When?”. The event was organized by the Baiterek Intellectual Club with the help of JSC Fund of National Welfare Samruk – Kazyna, and lasted for two days, from February 18th to 19^th. The games took place in Astana.

Undergraduate Admissions Office would like to inform that between February 17 and 19, 2012 a trip to Zhezkazgan city took place with the purpose of professional orientation in secondary schools and vocational schools, and also for holding the Open House Day and entrance examinations for graduate and undergraduate programs for the academic year 2012-2013.

Together with the professional orientation work the Open House Day was successfully held, gathering 45 visitors, out of which 41 applied to KIMEP. We would like to inform that 10 applicants out of 41 indicated that they are the candidates for Altyn Belgy certificate. School ranking in terms of number of applied to KIMEP is as following: Kazakh Turkish Lyceums for gifted boys, Gymnasium # 8 and Gymnasium # 26.

We express a deep appreciation to Dr. Federico Dalpane, Assistant Professor/GE Department and Dr. Catharine Gabriel Carey, Associate Professor/English Language Program, who helped with organizing and successfully conducting the professional orientation and entrance examinations in Zhezkazgan.

We are pleased to invite you to the 16th KIMEP Job Fair (Career day) to be held on April 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the KIMEP Student Center and New Building.
We expect about 50 large multinational companies, financial organizations, auditing, trade, production companies and many others will take part in this event.
