Research Support
The College is endeavoring to cost-effectively develop its research performance, measured in terms of publications (notably, referred articles in international journals, commissioned chapters in internationally published books, authored books and edited books), and events involving the dissemination of knowledge (notably, local, national and international seminars and conferences). Facilitated by the Director of Research and Development, supported by the College Research Support Group, the following activities are regular occurrences:
- research training workshops (to help new or inexperienced researchers get started and get published);
- departmental seminar series (where new or inexperienced researchers (including graduate students) can get feedback on new and evolving research ideas; and where visiting academics can share their knowledge and research experience);
- local, national and international conferences related to areas of research specialization within the CSS; and
- six-monthly editions of an electronic CSS Social Science Research Bulletin (where the research aspirations, outputs and outcomes of faculty and graduate students can be shared with the wider academic communities within KIMEP and relevant regional and international collaborative research partners (both individuals and organizations), and with interested KIMEP stakeholders.
