Graduate Study at KIMEP

KIMEP University was founded in 1992 under the instruction of President Nursultan Nazarbayev with the mission to provide education to change society.  Ever since, students from Kazakhstan and around the world have come to Almaty for outstanding graduate-level education.

A KIMEP education is unique for its international faculty and globally-oriented curricula.  No other institution has been so successful in the creation and transfer of knowledge relevant to improving society in Kazakhstan and beyond. Graduate students at KIMEP do research, internships, seminars, and community service. With all classes taught in English, they gain full fluency in the international language of business.  They engage with the world while taking key steps towards excellent careers.

KIMEP operates on the North American, credit model of education.  That means students have the flexibility to determine their schedule, course load and academic career.  They choose which professors will teach them. They have the option to study full- or part-time. All graduate courses are offered in the evenings and/or weekends to ensure flexibility for students who have full-time jobs.

KIMEP has a well-developed student support system, which includes an international office for exchange programs and a well-connected career center.  Graduate students have free access to KIMEP’s outstanding facilities, including Central Asia’s best library, modern academic buildings and a new Sports Center.
