KIMEP Executive Education Center is glad to offer a new training course that will help you to prepare for the CFA Level I examination held in Almaty in June 2012.

CFA Charter: Earn a designation recognized and accepted by employers of investment professionals worldwide!

The CFA charter is divided into three sequential levels of study each ending in an examination.  The examinations are known for their vigor and verify the successful applicant’s knowledge, ability to apply investment principles and to utilize financial instruments.

There are 90,000 charterholders worldwide, but only 33 in Kazakhstan.

CFA Level I Exam Preparatory Course

  • 10 intensive learning sessions (total of 50 classroom hours)
  • Delivered on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Personal tutoring support available during the training period
  • The course fee is KZT 180,000 (plus VAT)
  • Starting March, 2012 leading up to the June exam

Requirements to Enrol in the CFA Program:

  • have a bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree / be in your final year of your bachelor’s program,
  • or have four years of qualified, professional work experience

Note that enrollment and exam registration fees are separate from KIMEP’s preparatory course fees and are paid directly to the CFA Institute.

Lead Faculty of KIMEP CFA Exam Preparation Course - Donald W. Hoskins, CFA

Professor Hoskins has nearly 20 years of investment management experience at leading firms on Wall Street. Positions held include portfolio manger of a top-performing emerging markets mutual fund, director of equity research for a $2 billion hedge fund, and a co-founder of a private equity fund. He taught at American University in Washington, DC, before coming to KIMEP in 2008.

Professor Hoskins has a MBA from the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia. Having received his CFA Charter in 1988, Professor Hoskins has been a frequent grader of exams for the CFA Institute and was previously Governor of a CFA Society.
