Freshmen Admission Requirements
- High school achievements – high school score is one of the admission criteria for all undergraduate programs of the institute;
- Unified National Testing\Complex Testing results- the applicants, that obtained their education in Kazakhstan, shall submit the results of the Unified National Testing/Complex Testing, which includes sections of Mathematics, History of Kazakhstan, Native Language and other sections according to the rules/requirements, set forth by the Ministry of Education and Science of the RK (MOE of RK) for the year of entry;
- KIMEP Entrance Examinations results:
- KIMEP Entrance English Test (KEET)[1] – all applicants shall pass KIMEP English Entrance Examination in the form of the test (KEET), administered by KIMEP Language Center. Depending on the KEET score the student will be required to have passed from 450 class hours to 90 class hours of Foundation English or to go straight to academic subjects;
- KIMEP Undergraduate Admissions Test (KUAT)[2] – all applicants, that obtained their education in countries other than Kazakhstan, shall pass KUAT test administered by KIMEP School of General Education, which includes the sections of Mathematics and World History;
- Entrance Essay for applicants to BAIJ program[3];
[1] Substitution of KEET may take place provided that the applicant has official valid certificates on scores obtained at TOEFL/IELTC, if the scores are in compliance with KIMEP admission requirements
[2] Substitution of KUAT may take place provided that applicants have official valid certificates on scores obtained at SAT/ACT, if the scores are in compliance with KIMEP admission requirements
[3] Entrance Essay is required for all applicants to BAIJ program regardless of the applicant’s status. The entrance essay is designed for disclosing the creative abilities of the applicants and shall be written for one of the topics offered.
- Mathematics is one of the criteria of admission for all undergraduate programs of the Institute. KIMEP considers Math section of the UNT/Complex Testing/KUAT as a specialized test. KIMEP reserves a right to increase the requirements of the minimum criteria of the specialized discipline, established by the MOE of RK/KIMEP Academic Council for the specific year of admission;
Admission criteria for graduating high school students (KZ high schools):
- High school achievements (KIMEP evaluates academic achievements of the applicants for 10th and 11th grades in the following academic subjects: Algebra, Geometry, Physics, Computer science, foreign language, Native language, History of Kazakhstan, World History, and Geography)
- Unified National Testing (UNT) and Mathematics
- KIMEP Entrance English Test (KEET)
Admission requirements for graduating high school students (non-KZ high schools):
- High school achievements (KIMEP evaluates high school academic achievements of the applicants for the last two grades of high school in academic subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Physics, Computer science, foreign language, native language, World History, Geography or other relevant subjects)
- KIMEP Undergraduate Admission Test (KUAT) and Mathematics
- KIMEP Entrance English Test (KEET)
