Department of Political Science and International Relations

The Department of Political Science and International Relations aims to introduce students to the complexities of social realities and prepare them for leadership roles in the challenging arena of world affairs. Through its emphasis on conceptual and social scientific methodologies, students are equipped to analyze complex social phenomena, to form more enlightened opinions and to better understand and facilitate the processes involved in a successful transition to a liberal democracy and market economy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Department has been granted membership in the American Political Science Association (APSA), which has more than 14,000 members residing in over 70 countries worldwide. APSA is the major professional association for people who study and teach about politics and government.
