Manuscript Style
The following style instructions should be followed for manuscripts submitted for the 7th Annual KIMEP International Research Conference (KIRC).
1. Page Layout: Print the manuscript in laser-printer quality, single-spaced, plain white A4 paper, with one-inch margin on all sides. Put in page number at the bottom of each page, on the right.
2. Title Page: Title page must include (i) title of the paper (mixed case, bold, centered, 14 point Times New Roman), (ii) author’s name, designation, affiliated institution, city and state, phone number and e-mail address (mixed case, centered, 12 point Times New Roman), (iii) date of submission. The title should appear at the top of the page, author’s description at the middle and the date at the bottom.
3. First page: Begin the first page of the paper with the title in mixed case, 12 point Times New Roman, centered and bold. Single-space the title if more than one line is required. Insert one blank line below the title. In the next line, center the heading “ABSTRACT”, insert one blank line below this heading and follow with a 100 – 120 – word essay abstract. Fully justify and single-space the abstract. Leave two blank lines and start the body of the paper. The body of the paper should be single-spaced, left justified.
4. Font: Use 12 point Times New Roman for all text. The font for all headings and captions should be 12 point Times New Roman, bold. The font for all footnotes and exhibit note and citations should be 10 point Times New Roman.
5. Headings: Use a maximum of two levels of headings as appropriate. Level I headings should be mixed case, centered, with two blank lines above and one blank line below. Level two headings should be in mixed case, left justified, with one blank line above and one below.
6. Paragraph: Leave a blank line between paragraphs and do not indent.
7. Exhibit/figure/table: Insert tables/exhibits/figures on or as close as possible to the page on which the reference to each exhibit appears. The caption of each exhibit/figure/table should appear in mixed case, 12 point Times New Roman, bold, centered, above the exhibit, with one blank line above and one below the caption. Exhibit/figure/table citations and notes should appear directly below each exhibit, single-spaced, left justified, in 10 point Times New Roman, with one blank line above and one below the note.
8. Reference: Begin the reference list on a new page. The page begins with the word References, centered in the top, middle of the page, using both upper and lower case. If the references take up more than one page, do not re-type the word References on sequential pages, simply continue your list. Use one space after all punctuation. The first line of the reference is flush left. Lines thereafter are indented as a group, a few spaces, to create a hanging indention. Use double space between citations & single space in the citations. Use italics for titles of books, newspapers, magazines, and journals. References cited in text must appear in the reference list; conversely, each entry in the reference list must be cited in text. Arrange entries in alphabetical order. Give in parentheses the year of publication. For magazines and newspapers, give the year followed by the month and date, if any. If no date is available, write (n.d.). Give volume numbers for magazines, journals, and newsletters. Include the issue number for journals if and only if each issue begins on page 1.
